WVWC’s Mobley named MEC Offensive Lacrosse Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT – West Virginia Wesleyan’s Erin Mobley has been named the MEC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Davis & Elkins’ Marissa Cuevas has been voted the Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

The MEC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Mobley, a freshman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, helped the Bobcats go 2-0 this week with victories over Ursuline and Westminster. In the two games, Mobley scored 11 goals on 15 shots with 13 of her shots being on target.

Cuevas, a senior from Farmingville, New York, helped the Senators go 2-0 this week with wins over Thiel and Virginia State. Cuevas recorded 32 saves in the two contests with a .667 save percentage while allowing just 16 goals. She also picked up 14 ground balls and caused six turnovers while improving her record to 9-0 on the season.
