BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan College has been selected as one of the 2022 “Hidden Gems in the Southeast” by College Raptor, a leading college planning platform that helps families discover college matches driven by advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to find the best colleges at the best price.
WVWC is one of three West Virginia higher education institutions and the only private West Virginia college to be chosen as a Hidden Gem.
The Hidden Gem selection recognizes Wesleyan as one of the best colleges in the country, based on a combination of factors, including number of applications received, graduation rates, campus diversity, endowment per student, and other key metrics as reported via the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) for the most recently available enrollment year.
John Waltz ’01, vice president for enrollment management, said, “We are again honored to be named by College Raptor. West Virginia Wesleyan College’s outstanding academic reputation, student-focused experience and distinctive co-curricular programs in the arts, athletics and community service have continued to allow students from all over the U.S. to find our ‘hidden gem.’”
Bill Staib, CEO of College Raptor, added, “Finding hidden gem schools for students is core to how we help families discover great college choices. We take pride in making it easy for students to make those connections through our Hidden Gems Rankings lists by highlighting excellent schools like Wesleyan.”
WVWC recently announced its listing in the Best in the Southeast of The Princeton Review’s “2022 Best Colleges” Region by Region” as well as being ranked one of the top regional universities in the South in U.S. News and World Report’s 2022 Best Colleges.
