BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – St. Joseph’s Hospital recently honored Karen Woofter with the Valued Inspired Person Award (VIP) for the hospital. Karen works in the Environmental Service department.
Her co-workers say that she is a very hard worker and will help anyone in any department, they all know they can count on her. She has a heart of gold and is always the first to give when someone is in need. Since the start of the pandemic, she has made and bought hundreds of masks. She provided masks to all the staff in her department and also gave some to other departments as well. She also brings in and shares her garden harvest with others at the hospital. Her manager said Karen is someone you can count on when you are having a bad day, she always has a Peppermint Pattie waiting!
Karen is always concerned for the needs of others and is a great support to her co-workers. She is friendly, helpful, trustworthy and respectful. It is an award well-deserved.
St. Joseph’s Hospital honors staff members with the Valued Inspired Person Award (VIP) on a bimonthly basis. The VIP Award is given to those who demonstrate the Christ values of the hospital: Compassion, Hospitality, Reverence, Interdependence, Stewardship, and Trust.
