Elmer Raymond Booth, 81, died on August 21, 2022, at his lifelong home in Pickens, WV. He retired from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union, local 436, where he recently became a fifty year member of, in which he felt very proud, honored and accomplished about.
He was born September 19, 1940, in Pickens, WV a son of the late Raymond and Marie Umbright Booth. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Marie Booth; one sister, Hazel Marie Burky, all of Pickens, WV. Surviving are two nieces, Evelyn and Linda; three nephews, Ernest, Alvin and Herman.
He is survived by one daughter; Joyce Ann Morgan and husband Rick of Buckhannon, WV., two sons; Steven Edward Booth and wife Cari of Middleburg, FL. as well as Matthew Raymond Booth and wife Virginia of Buckhannon, WV. He had 7 grandchildren (Patricia, Brittany, Katlyn, Brittany, Rachael, Ricky and Angel) and 11 great grandchildren (Olivia, Henry, Kinsley, Addilyn, Liam, Jason, Payton, Landon, Axton, Brayzen and Bricen).
Elmer had very close friends, Sam and Donna Knotts, whom meant the world to him. He was a farming enthusiast since age 9; his farm and animals were always a priority. His furry companion was a Norwegian Elkhound, Buddy, who he loved dearly. He strongly believed that hard work was everything and always said “I was born to work and I’ll work til I die”. Even after retirement, he dedicated more time everyday to farming.
