Upshur Republican Executive Committee to host long-standing Lincoln Day Dinner Sept. 17

Elgine McArdle

BUCKHANNON – The Upshur County Republican Executive Committee is pleased to announce its annual Lincoln Day Dinner will take place this coming Sunday.

The dinner will take place Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Bicentennial Inn, with a social hour beginning at 1 p.m. and dinner scheduled for 2 p.m. The Bicentennial Inn is located at 90 East Main Street in Buckhannon, and JAWS BBQ! INC will provide a catered meal.

The Upshur County Republican Executive Committee is happy to announce that the chair of the West Virginia GOP, Elgine McArdle, will serve as the keynote speaker.

“We are pleased to announce that Elgine McArdle, chair of the West Virginia GOP, will be the keynote speaker at our Lincoln Day Dinner,” said Del. Robbie Martin, chair of the Upshur County Republican Executive Committee.

McArdle has a wide breadth of political and legal experience, having served on the Ohio County Republican Executive Committee starting in 2005 and eventually moving up the ladder to become the chair of the local party from 2009-2012. She began her current tenure with the State of West Virginia Republican Executive Committee for the 1st Senatorial District in 2006 and was an alternative delegate for the 2008 Republican National Convention.

She was vetted as a delegate for Rudy Giuliani in the 2008 presidential campaign and eventually tapped as an alternate delegate for the 2020 presidential campaign of Donald Trump.

“I have participated and assisted in numerous local, state and federal elections,” McArdle said. “In 2014, I was again elected as chair of the Ohio County Republican Committee, where I served until 2022.”

In 2022, McArdle was elected state chair for the West Virginia GOP.

Professionally, McArdle runs a full-time law practice as a solo practitioner with 30 years of experience in Ohio and West Virginia. She recently passed the Virginia Bar Exam and expanded her practice to the State of Virginia.

Want to learn more about McArdle and her message for the W.Va. GOP? Tickets may be purchased from any Upshur County Republican Executive Committee member before the meeting — as well as at the door – on Sept. 17. Tickets cost $30 each.

In addition to the keynote speaker, candidates will be allotted three minutes each to introduce themselves and brief attendees on their campaigns.
