BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the baseball and softball diamonds, the track and field, the lacrosse field, or the tennis courts.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of May 13 – May 19 are Dirk Riley, Carter Zuliani and Samantha Shreve.

Riley is a senior and Zuliani is a junior on the Buccaneer track and field team. The duo shined in the discus event at the state track and field meet this past weekend in Charleston. Both throwers finished ahead of their projections as Riley took third place with a throw of 146-10 and Zuliani finished fourth with a heave of 144-05. Going into the event, Riley was predicted to place sixth and Zuliani fifth.

Shreve is a junior on the Lady Buc track and field team. At the state meet, she had two finishes in the top eight. She competed in the 3200-meter run and the 1600-meter run, placing fourth in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:10.36 and eighth in the 1600 meters with a clocking of 5:16.98.
