Vera “Louise” Humphrey, age 70, of the Canaan community, Rock Cave, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the family home in Canaan.
She was born on July 24, 1954, a daughter of the late Helen G. Peck and Otis Kyle Sines. On May 18, 1978, she was united in marriage to Marvin Clyde Humphrey, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister Myrtle Hutton and an infant brother Alvin Dale Peck.
She is survived by one daughter Elizabeth and husband Cameron Corder of Buckhannon; one son Terry Humphrey of Canaan; two grandsons: Ethan and Levi Corder; three sisters: Phyllis and husband Warren Cooper of Frenchton, Tressie Wilson of Gaines, and Priscilla Pierce of Marion, VA; four brothers: Larry Peck and wife Marsha of Tallmansville, Edward Peck of Canaan, Rick Peck and wife Debra of Parkersburg, and David Peck of Canaan; and several nieces and nephews.
Louise was a member of the Canaan Community Church and loved quilting, crocheting dolls and playing cards with family after Sunday dinner.

The body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 12-1 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 1 PM with Pastor Jerry Lee officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Goshen Cemetery.
