Donald B. Loudin

Donald B. Loudin, 89, of Rock Cave, WV passed away August 27, 2024, after a brief illness.

He is survived by his daughter Roberta A. (Michael) Bosak, his granddaughter Alaina Bosak, his brothers Hugh A. “Buck” Loudin and Junior (Judy) Loudin, several nieces and nephews, and their extended families.

He was preceded in death by his son Richard A. Loudin, his brother James “Darrell” Loudin, his sister Carolyn J. Simon, and his sister-in-law Nancy J. Loudin (née Johnson). Don was born October 22, 1934, to the late Ona R. (née Potts) and Carlos O. Loudin, and he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors Corporation in Parma, Ohio, with 38 years of service.

Don was a 32nd degree Mason and 47-year member of the Quarry Lodge No. 382 F. & A.M in Berea, Ohio. He was also a member of the Valley of Cleveland Scottish Rites Lodge.

He was an avid reader, enjoying history books, westerns and just about any subject he could possibly learn about. Don also enjoyed hunting, fishing and going for sightseeing drives, but his absolute favorite activity was to simply sit and chat with friends and family. He was a remarkably kind, brilliant and beloved individual and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends may gather on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 10am – 12pm at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, WV. Inurnment at Rock Cave Cemetery will follow at 12:30 pm. Refreshments will be provided afterward at Fish Hawk Acres, 87 Fish Hawk Drive Rock Cave, WV, 26234.
