Lonny Junior Scott

Lonny Junior Scott, born on September 18, 1971, passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 53. He was the beloved son of Willard Junior Scott and the late Anna Mae Sommerville Scott.

Lonny was one of eight siblings, growing up in a large and lively family. Throughout his life, he embraced adventure and lived with a spirited energy that left an impression on everyone he met. Known as a “jack of all trades,” Lonny worked in various fields, including coal mining, painting, construction, pipeline work, and the oil industry. His versatility and work ethic were matched only by his loyalty to his friends and family.

Lonny had a deep love for his children and took great pride in being their father. He is succeeded in death by three daughters: Loni J. Scott of Buckhannon, Clara L. (Scott) Bush and husband, Walker, of Weston, and Abby G. Scott of Rock Cave; three sons: Vincent C. Scott of Buckhannon, Zachary T. Scott of North Carolina, and Keanan M. Lee of Rock Cave; and seven of his siblings. Siblings include: Willard M. Scott and wife, Vicky, of Buckhannon, Debra L. (Scott) Tenney and husband, Mike, of Hemlock, Tammie K. Oldaker of Buckhannon, Zane A. Scott of Elkins, Michael Scott and wife, Kimberly, of Belington, Terra (Scott) Robinson and husband, JP, of Rock Cave, and Justin Scott of Tallmansville. His devotion to those he cared about was unwavering, and his memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew him.

Lonny’s life was full of adventure and passion. He had a knack for raising a little hell while remaining fiercely loyal to those close to him. His vibrant personality and enduring love for his family will ensure that he is remembered fondly. Lonny Junior Scott will be loved but never forgotten. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
