Frederick Glenn (Fred) Tomey, 70, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Saturday, February 6, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born July 7, 1950, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Frederick (Fred) and Gladys Virginia Foster Tomey.
On April 19, 1974, he married Judy Ann Bennington of Buckhannon, who survives. Also surviving are, one daughter, Jennifer Tomey of Buckhannon; one son, Frank (Frankie) Tomey and wife Jennifer Gray of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Michelle Tomey of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Dominic Tomey of Buckhannon and Shane Tomey of Colorado; one great-grandson, Brantlee Tomey of Buckhannon; one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Tomey of Buckhannon; seven sisters, Mary, Barbara, Ilene, Arlene, Rena, Sue and Terry and six brothers, James, Robert, Arnold, Paul, Frank and Stanley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dana and one brother, Roger.
Mr. Tomey was self employed in home construction and a Christian by faith. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4357. Fred enjoyed his chickens, going to the Liberty Baptist Church and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday, February 11, 2021, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Burns officiating. In honoring Mr. Tomey’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services.
