Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital (SJMH) announces that Amanda Landis has been named the November 2021 ICARE Employee of the Month.  Amanda started work at SJMH in January 2018 as the staff educator.

Amanda is an Upshur County native and graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School.  Her parents are the late Mike Perry and Jeanie Perry of Buckhannon. She and her husband, Ben, have two children – Haley, 20, and Dylan, 16.

Amanda received her LPN training at the Fred Eberle Technical School in Buckhannon.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mountain State University.

Her nominator wrote, “Amanda is always smiling, outgoing and positive.  She is always willing to help, come early, and stay late on very short notice.  She has been a great help with onboarding of new employees.  She takes it upon herself to make sure that new employees and agency staff have everything they need on their first day here.”

Amanda is humbled to receive this honor and said, “I am pleased but feel that all the healthcare workers here are deserving of the honor.  Every member of the SJMH staff have worked tirelessly during the past eight-week COVID surge.  They all are deserving, too.”

Amanda’s nominator also wrote, “Almost every encounter I have had with Amanda is pleasant and worthwhile.  She has great enthusiasm for her work, and job, and her ability to help others.

In her spare time, Amanda and her family enjoy camping, kayaking, and enjoying the outdoors.

This is the second time Amanda has received this honor.
