Applications now being accepted for inaugural Leadership Upshur class

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Applications are now being accepted for the inaugural class of the Leadership Upshur program.  Leadership Upshur is a program of study designed to help aspiring leaders develop the skills necessary to grow in their positions. This program will expose the participants to skills and topics in leadership, habits, effectiveness, emotional intelligence, civic engagement, and more.

The program will be held over a 9-month period with sessions occurring on the first Thursday of each month.  The program is focused on Upshur County and will include topics such as History, Trends & People; Local, County & State Government; Business & Technology; Emotional Intelligence; and Education & Quality of Life. Sessions will be held at various locations and feature a wide variety of speakers.

There will also be discussions on several leadership books as well as a group retreat and a graduation ceremony at the end of the program.
