Chloe Lee Mathias

Chloe Lee Mathias, age 94, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, July 17, 2022, at her home.

She was born February 15, 1928, in Avon Park, FL, a daughter of the late Roy and Flora Otho Hunt Weeks. On October 9, 1945, she married Wilmer “Junior” Mathias who preceded her in death on September 16, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Reba Johnson and Mary Jane Phillips.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheila M. Brockleman and husband Gary and Judy Tenney and husband Joe all of Buckhannon; three grandchildren, Lori and husband Mike of Murfreesboro, TN, Todd and wife Debora and Kristi all of Buckhannon; seven great-grandchildren, Luke and wife Jessica of Buckhannon, Joe of Murfreesboro, Jess and wife Makayla, Gage and wife Karley, Megan of Murfreesboro, TN, Garrett and Peyton all of Buckhannon and three great-great-grandchildren, Bellamy, Greyson and Layne all of Buckhannon.

Mrs. Mathias was a Christian by faith and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Chloe was a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping and vacations to the beaches of the Outer Banks with her family.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Tallmansville Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WVU Medicine Hospice or a charity of your choice.
