Davis Medical Center to highlight the importance of organ donation

ELKINS, W.Va. – Most everyone recognizes that organ donation helps save lives – and just one person’s gift has the potential to help up to eight people while tissue donors can improve the lives of up to 50 people.

April is designated at National Donate Life Month and the Leadership Team and employees of Davis Medical Center (DMC) along with those from the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) will host a flag raising event at 1 p.m. April 8 in front of the DMC Visitor Entrance on Gorman Avenue near the Gift Garden.

Members of the community who are organ donors or organ recipients are invited to attend the event along with other medical and emergency medical personnel. Anyone interested in learning more about becoming an organ donor is invited to attend the flag raising and reception. Davis Medical Center does ask for individual attending the event to please wear a facemask and maintain social distancing.
