Donnie “Moe” Lane, age 57, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, February 14, 2025, at his home.
He was born January 11, 1968, in French Creek, WV, a son of the late Homer Ovid and Anna Bell Simmons Lane. He is survived by his wife Loretta Ables-Lane; two step-daughters, Samantha L. Garrison and fiancée, Termaine Cottingham and Tracey Eckles all of Fairmont, WV; two step granddaughters, Kaylie Richards of Buckhannon and Anya Garrison of Fairmont; two step-grandsons, Antonio Garrison and Tayvon Cottingham both of Fairmont; six step grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Lane of McKeesport, PA and David Lane of French Creek; three sisters, Brenda Bowery and husband Brian of Lexington, KY, Sandra Robinson of Elkins, WV and Barbara McCartney and husband Chris of Webster Springs, WV and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Joseph W. Richards; grandparents, Jack Carpenter and Goldie and Russell Carpenter Tenney and one brother, Terry Lane.
“Moe” was a Baptist by Faith. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids and family.
Friends will be received on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 12 Noon until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor David Jessie and the Rev. Eugene Helmick officiating. In honoring “Moe’s” wishes, he will be cremated following the funeral service.
