Herbie “Tony” White, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born January 9, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Hetzel David and Margaret Vada Koon White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Ashley Alkire.
He is survived by his companion, Elma White of Buckhannon; two stepsons, Les Alkire and girlfriend Morgan Yoak of Buckhannon and Josh Heater and wife Christina of Clarksburg, WV; one stepdaughter, Emma Alkire and partner Cassie Riggs of Buckhannon; adopted daughter, Bobbie Alkire of Buckhannon; six grandchildren, Leslie “Youngblood” Alkire, III, Aiden “Chopper” Alkire and Ashlynn “AJ” Alkire all of Buckhannon, Gabrielle Kelley, Hailey Butcher and Alvin Butcher all of Clarksburg; two brothers, Terry White and companion Loretta Mcie and Jeff White both of Buckhannon and a sister, Tammy.
Mr. White loved camping and fishing. When he attended New Life Tabernacle, he always had the “Amen Corner” for Pastor Cochran.
Friends will be received Friday, December 27, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM for a memorial gathering at the New Life Tabernacle. A memorial service will follow at the church with Pastor Jeff Cochran officiating. In honoring his wishes, Tony will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
