Karasawa wins “Freshman of the Year,” three Bobcats collect MEC postseason awards

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va.– Kihiro Karasawa was named Mountain East Conference “Freshman of the Year” as the league announced their postseason tennis awards. Along with his Freshman of the Year award, Karasawa was also named First Team All-MEC.
 
Karasawa, a freshman from Iizuna, Japan, played most of the season as the No.1 for the Bobcats.
 
Camillo Salvi was the second Bobcat to receive First Team All-MEC recognition. In addition, the Verona, Italy native collected Second Team All-MEC honors in 2021.
 
Taylor Papworth earned Second Team All-MEC honors by the conference. The junior from Weybridge, England, collected First Team All-MEC awards in 2021.
