Lady Bobcats win two Individual events at MEC Acro & Tumbling Championships

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan synchronized pyramid team and the 450 salto toss team won their individual events at the Mountain East Conference Championships on Saturday at Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont, W.Va.

The synchronized pyramid team of Talia CooperSydney McKinnonEmily DengelAbigail BoweKayla WadeKayla GandyMegan MilesTiara Stokes and Kelsey Allen took the crown with a score of 9.275. The Bobcats edged Fairmont State and Frostburg State in the event.
 
The 450 salto toss team of Wade, Miles, Stokes, McKinnon and Alejandra Ditchen scored a 9.150 and defeated West Liberty and Fairmont State for the individual event title.
 
The six-element acro team of Gandy, Stokes and Joniah Howell placed second. The seven-element team of Wade, McKinnon, Ditchen, Miles and RayAnn Nadolski also recorded a second-place finish. Nadolski, Cooper, Dengel, Howell and Bowe finished second in the open toss event. Individually, Gandy scored the second-highest total in the aerial tumbling event.
