Regina Doreen Dean, age 60, of the Hampton community, Buckhannon, passed away gently on April 8, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family and loving pets.
She was born on April 24, 1964, in Ashtabula, OH to Robert Glenn Davis and Cecelia Olive Reese. Regina was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Walter Dean in 2008 and her special friend Alvin Wayne “Kojack” Kelley in 2011.
She is survived by her long-term companion Leslie “LD” Simons and their fur babies Pixie, Little Miss, Storm, Thunder, and Rainy. She was a ferocious mother to her three feral children and their spouses: Cecilia and Michael Chidester, Blaine and Mandy Dean, and Kells and Tiffany Dean. She was an ornery Nana to seven grandchildren: Takeesha Roberts and husband Haden, Acacia Miller and husband Tony, Keagen Chidester and wife Brittany, Kaiden Chidester, Lysander Dean, Iris Dean and Elowen Dean. She was a Great-Nana to Caroline Arey, Freya Arey, Octavia Arey, Juniper Roberts, and Warren Miller. She is also survived by her sister Thamson Davis, nephews Randy Davis and Clinton Thompson, and nieces Eyvonne Davis, Christina Nunez, and Starlette Peck-Fonseca.
She was a fighter with an unwavering, feisty spirit. She loved nothing more than a family holiday meal followed by a cup of tea and a game of cards. She also delighted in singing, dancing, and the lively beat of her tambourine. Always looking her best, she was known for her beautifully manicured nails, stylish outfits, and a signature ring on every finger. Above all, her Christian faith and love for family shone through in every aspect of her life.
A funeral service will be held at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
