St. Joseph’s Hospital recognizes perinatal nurses during National Perinatal Nursing Week

BUCKHANNON, WV – St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing their perinatal nurses October 9-15.

Perinatal nurses are registered nurses who care for women through pre-conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, generally up until the newborn is at least a month old. One of the main tasks of these nurses is to provide education to pregnant women about their unborn child.

With courage, compassion, and resilience, they play a critical role in ensuring a patient’s healthy pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum experience.
