This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Isaac Lane and Shelby McDaniels

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. We will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur that has had an exemplary week on the baseball or softball diamond, the tennis courts, the track and field or the lacrosse field.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the weeks of April 23-April 30 are Isaac Lane and Shelby McDaniels.

Lane is a senior on the Buckhannon-Upshur baseball team. In four games, he hit .500 going 6-for-12 while scoring four runs and collecting five RBIs. He also pitched well in a 3-2 setback to Grafton, pitching 6 1/3 innings and did not allow an earned run while giving up just three hits and striking out six.

McDaniels is a senior on the B-U softball team.

McDaniels collected the 1,000th hit of her career in a setback to Fairmont Senior. She managed the feat in just three seasons and is the sixth player in team history to collect 1,000 hits. She was red-hot at the plate in six games, hitting. 523 going 11-for-21. She also had eight RBI’s and scored eight runs.

Congratulations to Lane and McDaniels as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
