Notice of Cemetery Annual Spring Clean-up from March 24 through March 28, 2025 – The City of Buckhannon will be performing the annual spring clean-up of the cemeteries (Buckhannon Memorial Park, Old Heavner, Second Addition, Veterans, and Old Baptist) beginning March 24, 2025, and continuing through March 28, 2025. ALL ITEMS MUST be removed before the scheduled Clean-Up. Any items left will be disposed of during the cemetery clean-up. The Colonial Arts Center and WVU Medicine, St. Joseph’s Hospital Present April’s Local Music Night at the CAC – This monthly concert series spotlights songwriters, bands, and musicians from the Buckhannon area. The event provides a platform for established and amateur artists to perform original music, allowing community members to discover new sounds and support their local music scene. The following Local Music Night will occur on Saturday, April 5th, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and live music running from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The show is free to attend and open to all ages. It will feature A.M.D. with opener Dominik English of Ben’s Raincoat.

Charles W. Gibson Public Library Annual Open House, April 9, 2025 – Celebrating National Library Week, join us for an early evening event featuring the following: Exploration of Graphic Novels, Magazines, and Picture Books; Make your own Comic Stripes; and a Where’s Waldo Scavenger Hunt. Free Residential Paper Shredding Event, April 26, 2025 – The Upshur County Solid Waste Authority is sponsoring a Free Paper Shredding Event (Residential Only) on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at 395 Mud Lick Rd. Once your account has been established, you must log in with the proper email and password.

Reporting a Necessary Repair or Registering a Concern with the City – To report a necessary repair, such as potholes, damaged street signs, an issue in a city park, etc., or any other matter that a city department should attend to, call City Hall during regular business hours and ask to submit a work order request, or report your concerns through our Citizens Engagement tool: https://buckhannonwv.portal.iworq.net/BUCKHANNON/new-request/700/3444. This will speed up the reaction time to a matter that needs immediate attention.
