Wesleyan tennis teams compete in ITA Regionals

The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s and women’s tennis teams participated in the 2024 ITA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships in Bloomsburg, Pa., Sept. 13-15.

Highlights included:

Men’s Singles
Kihiro Karasawa defeated Skander Mezouar (Salem Univ.) 7-5, 7-5 in the quarterfinals, but lost to #1-seed Jorge Perez (Univ. of Charleston) in the semifinals

Women’s Singles
Sneha Sundaraneedi defeated Ashleigh Groom (West Chester) 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round, but fell to Maria Fonseca (Fairmont State) in the round of 32

Men’s Doubles
Mika Kreisel and Jed Platts defeated Jasper de Bruijn and Alex Stacy (Fairmont State) 6-3 in the quarterfinals, but lost to Elia Barozzi and Gabriel Masu (Fairmont State) 6-1 in the semis.

Women’s Doubles
Dominique Van Vuuren and Sneha Sundaraneedi defeated Sofia Benito and Cecilia Carayol (Edinboro Univ.) 6-1 in the round of 16, but lost to Sara Martinez and Michelle Connor (Univ. of Charleston) 6-3 in the quarters.
